Dear Jason,
Michelle & I have been meaning to write to you for some time now, to thank you and your partner for the wonderful Midsumma ceremony you conducted for us (I’ve sent a photo from the day so that you can picture who we are!).
I have to admit that Michelle & I were a little too relaxed about the ceremony, as we weren’t expecting it to have the resonance and meaning that it did.
We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in August, and had previously held a commitment ceremony with our family & friends in 2000. So we were thinking that the Midsumma ceremony would be something we would do solely for ourselves, as a bit of a political statement.
We were surprised at how meaningful the ceremony became, especially reciting your beautiful vows and signing the certificate of marriage. Its amazing that after being out for so long, that these small actions hold such meaning & resonance to us.
Thank you so much for being an integral part of such an important event in our lives together. You have to have a chuckle that such an amazing event happened with loud doof doof music in the background - but it didn’t matter one bit!
